Ira Kalina, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and psychotherapist with more than 30 years in practice. Many individuals, couples and families have strengthened their relationships through his approaches. As a teacher, workshop leader, supervisor and mentor Dr. Kalina has provided training for many professional therapists to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Dr. Kalina's work has appeared in magazines and professional journals. He has been a featured speaker and workshop leader at professional conferences in the N.Y. Metropolitan area and throughout the United States, and he has been interviewed on the television magazine show 20/20.
Dr. Kalina is a Member of the New York State Psychological Association; Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT); Clinical Member of the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy; served as president and board-member of the Long Island Chapter of the AAMFT. Dr. Kalina was named the "LIAMFT 2002 Family Therapist of the Year".
In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Kalina is also a writer of fiction, enjoys hiking, and has a passion for basketball. He is married and has two adult sons.
